    Guide to Artisan

    Table of Content:
    1. Introduction
    2. Stat Discussions
    3. Skills
    4. Equipment (Updated!)
    5. Builds
    6. Leveling up

    1. Introduction:
The dealer class is well known as money makers in the world of ROSE. Amount the dealer second classes, the artisan class is famous for their ability to craft awsome items out of materials. So you want to be an artisan? Read on.

    2. Stat Discussion:
    Strength (str):
    -melee weapons and launchers damage
    -defense
    -HP
    -weight capacity

    Dexterity (dex):
    -ranged weapons and guns damage
    -avoid
    -speed

    Intelligence (int):
    -MP
    -Magic Defense

    Concentration (con):
    -guns and launchers damage
    -increases hitting
    -increases crafting success (around 1%=10con)

    Charm (cha):
    -rewards of quests
    -requirement of Royal Crown (30cha)

    Sensibility (sen):
    -criticals
    -quality of crafted item

So these are pretty much what these stats do for a dealer. But as a hardcore artisan you will use a gun and spilt your stat points among con and sen in different ratio depending on your build and perference. However if you really want to have good combat ability with a cost of lower crafting ability, you will divide your stat points into dex/con/sen or str/con/sen depends on you are using guns or launchers.

    3. Skills:
Since you have limited skill points(sp) each time you level up and higher level skills will cost more skill points, you have to pick a few skill choices of your own. A common way is to pick a few crafting skills you like and spend the other points into combat skills so you can level up easier.

    Combat skills:
    Gunshot mastery:
This skill increase your attack when you use gun. Prequisite of Twin Shot and Power gunshot.

    Twin shot and Power gunshot:
Active skills which you hit with a bigger hit with a single shot. The speed, however, is slower than regular attack and you cant increase the speed of the animation. Twinshot will upgrade into Triple shot at level 11 while Power gunshot is a prequisite of Sniping.

    Combat mastery:
This Skill increase your attack speed each level. Prequisite of Zuly pink, Union weapon and Poison bang.

    Union weapon:
This self buffing skill increase your attack speed by a large amount. When used with high critical rates it is good.

    Zuly pink:
Active Magic Skill which gives good damage with a cost of zuly. Short cool down time.

    Summon Mercenary Warriors:
Summon Mercenary Warriors (merc) to fight for you. Good tank, fair damage but very high sp cost which high requirement in the Economic tree of skills. And the max level of merc an artisan can get is only level 9 due the the restriction of max level of economic research to artisans and dealers.

So which combat skills is "teh best"? There is no best choice but it is dependant on Skill points you have for combat skills and fighting style of you. If you like skill spaming, get 2 active skills and spam them one after another. If you dont like to spam skills you may want Union weapon with active skills. If you dont like to use mp at all, get high union weapon. If you like summons get merc, however I dont recommand artisan going dealers getting merc as they requires way too many skill points which you can spend on other combat skills/crafting skill/passive skills but you can get them if you really like them VERY MUCH.

    Crafting Skills:
So this is the main interest of most artisan players. There are different crafting skills for crafting different items.

    Armor research:
Increase your defence as a passive skill and open up higher level armor crafting skills. Recommanded.

    Weapon research:
Increase your con by 1 each level and open up higher level weapon crafting skills. Recommanded.

    Craft Mastery:
Increase your max MP and different research and crafting skills require different level for this skill. Dont overlevel it unless you need it to open a new research, crafting skill since MP recovery items are so cheap to use.

    Item Divide:
Seperate the items into material or, if the item is sloted with a gem, seperate the gem and the item. Base material will be downgraded into lowest quality of its type, like cloth of any type will become tough cloth. And gems can be downgraded(grade2+ gems) or vanish(grade 1 gems). You can get a higher success chance if you have higher con.

What skills I need to craft for that item?
This is what these crafting skills can craft:
Normal Armor Craft: face items, casual suits (all class armors), all class glove and helmet boots.
Magic Armor Craft: Dealer and Muse armors.
Combat Armor Craft: Solider and Hawker armors.
    Gun Craft: guns and launchers.
Sword Craft: swords and dual weapons.
Blunt Weapon Craft: blunt weapons, axes, spears and katars.
    Bow Craft: Bows and bowguns.
Magic Weapon Craft: staves, wands and Muse "shields".
Subweapon Craft: shields, dolls, wings and bags

Gem Cutting, Cart Craft and Castle Gear Craft are self-explanatory.

Sp cost for different crafts are different. It is weapon and armor crafts cost roughly the same amount of sp while gem, cart and castle gears requires approximately twice the sp cost of them.

    Economic Skills:
    Economic Research:
Increase your cha by 2 each level and prequisite of all eco skills.

    Pack Mastery:
Increase your weight capacity, prequisite of gathering. Its more a concern for launcher users. Not recommanded.

    Gathering:
Enable you to have higher chance to get larger stacks of materials.

    Summon Mercenary Warriors:
    Covered in combat skills already.

    Buy trick:
Enable you to buy things at a discount from npcs. Not recomanded.

This Tree of skills isnt too great for artisan. But some specially build artisans may interested in this tree before they can reach level 70. I will cover that later on build section.

    4. Equipment:
There should be two sets of equipments for fighting and crafting.

    Crafting set:
The crafting set you will look for con and sen bonus. 6con/5sen is the best uber stat for general crafting purpose.

Stats to look for: con, sen, 6con/5sen, and charm(on mask and dolls)

    Weapon:
For weapon, 6/5 short sword is the best choice out here generally. However, if you dont want to spend too much zuly on a crafting weapon, you can get a sword or a 1 handed weapon a little higher str requirement. Also for gem cutting and seperation, one would prefer a weapon with a high grade sapphire instead of 6/5 weapon.

    Shield:
And for shield slot, the best is a 6/5 doll, preferably with higher charm since charm is the requirement of a royal crown. Another good choice would be 6/5 Tarz which requires 20 str. And (from what I remember) there are also slotted Tarzs so when you are higher level you will want to put a high grade sapphire/emerald inside and it will be better than a 6/5 doll overall.

    Mask:
A 6/5 mask of any type. Perferably with higher charm, refer to shield for the same reason.

    Head gear:
A 6/5 head gear is good. The ultimate one would be a 10con/6con/5sen royal crown. I have also seen 10con/7con royal crown on auction, it would be a good head gear for gem cutting and seperation.

    Other Armors and back equipment:
Anything thats 6/5. Or any other decent +con/+sen if you cant find or affort 6/5 ones yet. Beware of "6/5 sworder gloves" sellers. I got scummed once.

    Accessories:
For general craftings, emeralds. For gem cutting and seperations, sapphires. If you cant affort gems yet. Get a thin ring or a glass ring.

    Fighting set:
Pretty much like what other classes look for. However as artisans are rich and you can always use potions and food, 15/x stat is still prefered over other stats. 6/5 is good. 7/7 are underestimated most of the time. 7/7 adds up your defence, hp, dodge as well as a tiny bit of damage(for both gun and launchers), so it isnt bad to have. However if you look for defensive stat, 7/14 outperform 7/7 by far.

    Stats piority: 15/2(gun) ~= 15/3(launcher) > 6/5 ~= 7/7 ~= 7/14
    (~= means similar piority to)

    Weapon:
A gun or a launcher with slot, and socket it with a big diamond, peridot or sapphire. 15/x would be the 2nd best option.

    Gun vs Launchers:
Guns only require con which will also help your success rate while launchers require str which does not benefit your crafting.Guns are faster but have lower base damage. Launchers have better damage output generally, though. So some may argue using launchers will help you to level up faster which is improving your crafting ability in a faster way (however as you level up higher leveling will be much much slower). So if you really want to build a launcher artisan go ahead, although they are not my favorite type. The same argument is also valid for investing in dex for gun users.

    Armors:
Dodge is overated for artisans if you are not going to refine your armor. If you do not refine your armor, the monsters at your level will hit you most of the time. However it really makes a little difference if you plan on refining them. And an extra point about gloves would be "normal gloves" are prefered over dealer gloves as they have attack speed stats attached to them.

    Accessories:
The best would be diamond or peridot. If you are going to skill spam, diamond is the best damage wise. If you are going to use union weapon and shoot fast, peridots will be your favorite. Sapphires, however, is still prefered since you need them to have higher success chance in cutting gem. It also helps with your hit rate.

    Back equipment:
A pair of wing with good stat and/or dodge is prefered. Since artisans are frigile and you will have to run a lot in hunts, wings (having moving speed) is prefered over bags and backshields.

    5. Builds
Ok most artisan going dealers are mostly remembered as "crafters" or "mass crafters" with very high sen and rich. However there are more types of crafters actually.

    Mass Crafters:
All skills invested into crafting skills. Skill points are divided into con and sen in which they achieve a fairly good success rate with maximum amount of sen possible. This is due to the fact that sen provide better chance of stated items and stated items sell faster and also higher in market value. They level up by crafting things (slow).

    Normal Crafters:
Skills are spent on both combat purpose skills and crafting skills. Make money to affort better items and support hunts for leveling purpose. Stat points are divided between con and sen. More con gives better combat ability while more sen gives better crafted items. Most crafters are this type.

    High Precision Crafters:
This is a new idea of build of crafters come to my mind recently. A few crafting skills requires high precision (success rate) like gem cutting and cart crafting. However those skills are mostly only avalible to artisans but not dealers. They get gathering and combat skills like bourgeois going dealers. Saving a certian amount of skill points to level up gem cutting and cart crafting once reached artisan. They invest heavily in con. They are good gem cutters, seperators and cart crafters as these skills are not Dependant on sen (there are no stated gem, nor have I seen a stated cart yet). They generally have better combat ability than most crafters.

    6. Leveling up:
As a normal or mass crafter it will be very tough for you to level up. You will lose money each hunt you go. So you will either Dependant on crafting for exp or you will have to crafter for money and hunt in turns. This do not apply to high precision crafters though.
